Complete at least 2 Learn activities, 2 Do activities, and 1 Share activity, and briefly tell us about your experience to earn your Physical Wellness Badge. At least one “Do” activity must be completed consistently over 3–4 weeks.

You may submit a description of why you qualify for this achievement. It will be included in your badge award. If there is a URL that points to evidence of this achievement on the web, you may include that.

Learn:

-[SWELL class] Enroll in a semester long classSWELL class

-[Wellness Coach] Meet with a coach and create a physical wellness goal. (https://studentwellness.byu.edu/new-wellness-coaching-page)

  • [Overcoming Barriers] Identify two barrier to physical activity and two strategies for overcoming each of them.

-[Learn about the CDC physical activity recommendations] and create a plan for incorporating them into your routine.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEE OPTIONS

-[Employee Wellness] Explore the BYU Employee Wellness resources and choose 2 physical wellness resources you could incorporate into your routine for 1 month. (https://hrs.byu.edu/wellnessprogram)

-[Learn Something New] Choose an article or resource from the Employee Wellness Fitness Resources page and write down 3 things you learned. The site includes resources on strength training, stretching, functional fitness, exercise and the brain, and more.

-[Know Your Benefits] Learn about the DMBA Living Healthy Program and identify a wellness challenge you would like to complete. Eligible employees and spouses can participate in wellness challenges that may qualify for financial incentives.

DO

-[Try Something New] Attend a Group Fitness class twice a week for 1 month. Stick with a favorite or mix it up and explore different classes! (https://studentwellness.byu.edu/yfitness-classes)

-[Follow a physical activity plan] created with a Wellness Coach for at least 4 weeks.

-[Try 4 different forms] of physical activity you don't normally do.

-[Complete 150 minutes] of moderate physical activity per week for 4 weeks.

-[Participate in a BYU fitness event], race, intramural activity, or recreation program.

-[Visit Outdoors Unlimited] and complete a new outdoor activity.

-[Create and follow] a sleep, movement, and recovery routine for 3 weeks.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEE OPTIONS

-[Living Healthy] Complete one DMBA Living Healthy Wellness Challenge.

-[Get Moving] Choose a workout from the BYU Employee Wellness Fitness Resources and complete it 2 times per week for one month. They have downloadable workouts, stretching routines, strength-training resources, and an on-demand fitness video library.

-[Try Something New] Attend a Group Fitness class twice a week for one month. Stick with a favorite or mix it up and try different classes. BYU notes that faculty and staff can use several campus fitness facilities and participate in Group Fitness classes.

-[Get Outdoors] Rent equipment from BYU Outdoors Unlimited and complete an outdoor activity you don't regularly do.

-[Find Your People] Join an Employee Hobby Group that involves physical activity and participate consistently for one month.

Share

-Invite a friend to join you for 2 physical activities.

-Organize a walk, workout, hike, or other active activity with friends/classmates.

-Share one thing you learned about physical wellness and how you applied it.

-Help someone identify a BYU physical wellness resource that meets their needs.

-Encourage a friend to set a physical wellness goal and check in with them on their progress.
